Why Creating Content for Your Business is Important

Welcome back loves! Today’s blog post is all about the importance of creating engaging content for your business, brand, organization, etc. But first lets get a clear by-the-book definition of it. According to HubSpot, it’s “the process of generating topic ideas that appeal to your buyer persona, creating written or visual content around those ideas, and making that information accessible to your audience as a blog, video, infographic, or other format.”

As a fashion-loving, social media marketing manger ( that’s a mouth full to say ), content is being constantly created. Whether your business is in the fashion, hospitality or nonprofit industry, it’s vital that you are creating relevant and engaging content for your audience.

So, why should your business create content?

Your business has a better chance of being seen- For instance, when a potential customer Googles “how to tie a head wrap”, your YouTube video pops up, the customer clicks it and watches it. They’re more intrigued and eventually end up on your website for head wraps, they like what they see and buy several items from your store.
You build an online community- While the sole purpose of running a business is to make money, it’s also imperative that you create communities around the mission of your business. You want people to rally and be excited for what you have to offer.
Social media platforms are temporary spaces- when you have content on your own site, your risk of losing everything you created is low. From past observations, I have seen online businesses lose all of their content because they relied just on social media to get their content out.
